cadwork develops and sells the 3D-CAD/CAM system cadwork
The software is designed for professional use in timber as well as general construction. Our global team comprises 150 professionals, almost all of whom have a background in the construction industry.
With a combination of practical experience and intensive cooperation with our clients as well as research organisations, cadwork has developed into a competent authority for 3D-CAD/CAM solutions in timber construction.
The focus of our development is the consistent implementation of practical requirements. As a result of our strong commitment to research and development along with continuous cooperation with research organisations and machine manufacturers, cadwork is now setting the standards for CAD/CAM software in timber construction.
Our sales and support team do not think of themselves as a mere sales organisation, but rather focus on customer care as a substantial part of their work. Our customer care encompasses general hardware and software support and the development of client-specific working methods through to advice regarding specific structural issues.
Optimum customer care is currently provided from 16 locations worldwide. All our sales and support staff are highly trained in the use of cadwork and possess great expertise in the area of timber construction to ensure competent advice and support for our clients.
Our history
CSEM, a research team at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland, began the development of the CAD system cadwork in 1980. After completion of the KWF research project in 1988, the then EPFL team founded cadwork informatik AG with its head office in Basle, Switzerland and a development centre in Lausanne.
A second development centre, which is now responsible for all areas of timber construction, was created with the foundation of cadwork informatik Software GmbH in Hildesheim, Germany in 1993. Since 1988 a total of 16 offices have been set up in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic and Canada.
