cadwork for students and schools

For many years cadwork has been offering very reasonably-priced full versions of its timber construction package inclusive of IFC/BIM to high school and college students, graduates, teachers and lecturers as well as educational institutions in the field of timber construction.

1. Validity
The right of use for the student version shall be limited to the duration of school/college education or vocational training. The licence will be effective for the validity period of current, valid proof of training/education.

2. Charges
The price of a cadwork student version is 65.00 € incl. VAT. There is no discount for multiple orders. The student/apprentice will receive a personal, non-transferrable dongle. In case of loss of the dongle a new student version must be purchased.

3. Use
The version is personal and non-transferrable. It may not be lent or passed on to third parties. It may only be used for educational purposes. Under no circumstances may the student version be used commercially. Misuse of the student version will result in criminal prosecution.

4. Licensing
The dongle will be allocated an authorisation code, which will enable the version for the validity period of the current proof of education. The authorisation code will be generated for your customer number as stated on the dongle’s delivery note. It will be logged on our server and must be downloaded via cadwork_setup.

5. Required documents
The following documents must be submitted in order to apply for the student version:
School certificate, certificate of matriculation/enrolment, proof of professional training/apprenticeship – original only, no photocopies
The licence will be activated after receipt of full payment and all necessary documents. A valid certificate of education / training must be submitted in order to extend the licence. Student version licence holders are not entitled to assistance from cadwork Support.

A student version can be converted to a graduate version on completion of education or training.

1. Requirements
In order to convert a student to a graduate version the licence holder must have successfully completed their education / training and worked with cadwork during their education/training.
Applications for the conversion to a graduate version must be submitted to cadwork Hildesheim in writing. cadwork must be informed of the applicant’s employer.

2. Charges
There is no additional cost for the graduate version provided the applicant holds a student version in his/her own name and is in possession of a dongle.
Graduates who do not yet have their own student version can purchase their own version for the validity period of a graduate version at the same conditions as a student version.
The price of a cadwork student version is 65.00 € incl. VAT. The graduate will receive a personal, non-transferrable dongle.
In case of loss or damage, a replacement dongle will incur a charge of 65.00 € plus VAT.

3. Validity
The validity period of a graduate version is 6 months starting from the date of education/training completion certification.
Graduate versions will only be made available once and cannot be extended.

5. Rights
The graduate version is a complete version for unrestricted, autonomous use with all tasks.
cadwork Support by email is available for a total of 5 hours processing time during the version’s validity period.

Support enquiries will be processed on working days within 48 hours.
The phone hotline is not available for the graduate version.

6. Obligations
The application for a graduate version must be accompanied by a photocopy of your completion certificate, e.g. diploma, degree etc.
Any changes of address or contact details must be emailed to the relevant support team without delay.
You must inform cadwork of your employment status and, if applicable, your current employer’s address and contact details. Information must be submitted by email.

7. Indemnity claims
Indemnity claims against cadwork informatik and its vicarious partners are precluded.

1. Requirements

In order to obtain a teacher/lecturer version the software must be used in the areas of building/construction, civil engineering or architecture.
A person in charge, who has attended a minimum two-day introductory training seminar and is responsible for the programme, must be available on site.

2. Charges
cadwork’s teacher/lecturer version is free of charge. The teacher/lecturer will receive a non-transferrable dongle.
In case of loss or damage, a replacement dongle will incur a charge of 75.00 € plus VAT.

3. Validity
The validity period of cadwork teacher/lecturer version will be one year and may be extended following consultation.

5. Rights and obligations
The cadwork teacher/lecturer version is a full version, which may only be used for educational purposes or the documentation of research.
Commercial use of the software will result in an obligation to buy the software at the published list price.
Any publications produced with the use of cadwork must clearly state the use of cadwork.
Loss of a dongle and consequently the loss of the licence must be reported to cadwork informatik Software GmbH without delay.
Any changes of address or contact details must immediately be emailed to cadwork informatik Software GmbH in Hildesheim.

6. Indemnity claims
Indemnity claims against cadwork informatik and its vicarious partners are precluded.

1. Requirements
In order to obtain an educational institution version, the software must be used in the areas of building/construction, civil engineering or architecture.
A person in charge, who may be a teacher, lecturer or scientific staff, has attended a minimum two-day introductory training seminar and is responsible for the programme, must be available on site.

2. Charges
The cadwork educational institution version is free of charge. The teacher/lecturer in charge of the programme will receive one or more non-transferrable dongles.
In case of loss or damage, a replacement dongle will incur a charge of at least 75.00 € plus VAT per dongle.

3. Validity
The validity period of cadwork educational institution version will be one year and may be extended following consultation.
